The Company and the Role:
The Company is possibly the most talked-about group of hotels to emerge in recent years.
They are seeking a permanent Bar Manager to join their award-winning hotel and restaurant in North Somerset, close to Bristol. and Bath.
The Company's hotels are more like a restaurant with rooms and kitchen garden. The concept was created in 2011 and has been recognised with many accolades and industry awards.
The Company is still expanding with new openings in the pipeline. Their ethos is to want to give their staff a great place to work that is fun, professional and just a little bit different, with bags of opportunity.
The bar is like no other, with Vodka's infused by herbs, flowers and berries from the kitchen garden, bacon is added to bourbon and caramel to rum, there is no limit to what can be done or experimented, by your creative Bar team.
A knowledge of classic cocktails and modern twists is a must along with previous experience in a similar role.
Key Features of the Role:
Your job as Bar Manager will be to ensure the bar runs smoothly on a daily basis.
You will have a team of skilled Bartenders who all have brilliant ideas, so great people management skills are essential.
Using your customer service knowledge, skills and ability within the hotel and hospitality sector, you will be able to deliver an exemplary guest experience.
You will manage basic day to day duties and the responsibilities of your Bar team in a professional, efficient and effective manner, always putting the guest experience at the forefront of everything you do.
The Hotel is very much an informal and casual dining venue with a 4 Star rating, which allows for lots of guest interaction and engagement. The Company want you to express your creative side, utilising all of the assets the Company can give you.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will ideally be an accomplished Bar Manager.
Hotel, restaurant, bar and customer service experience is essential, as is Supervisory and or Management experience of a team.
You will need your own transport to get to interviews and venues.
As Bar Manager knowledge of basic cocktails, traditional and or modern, will be expected.
You should possess ambition to continually push yourself to move up to the next career level within this expanding group.
Wine and Drink parings experience would be advantageous to help the guest experience, however additional training can be given.
You must be working in a similar level of role currently, either looking for that next step in the career ladder, or perhaps a new and exciting venue where stuffiness and formality are thrown out of the window.
You will be a great team player with good organisational skills with the ability to thrive in a very busy hotel and restaurant, where the Company's reputation for great guest experience, is second to none.
What's on Offer?
You can expect a basic salary of between £25,000 and £30,000 per annum depending upon your experience and skill set.
There is also the additional earning potential of Tronc (Tips) which can add on an extra £2,500 per annum (estimated).
You also have the option to pay for Live In Staff Accommodation if you are willing to travel and work in a different location away from home, to save on constant commuting costs.
Potential Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) qualifications and training, level 1 and 2, through internal Sommelier training team.
Working 5 days out of 7, roughly 40-45 hours per week.
Holiday entitlement is 20 days plus all bank and public holidays, rising by 1 day each year for 5 years.
