LOCATION: Rotherham 

JOB TITLE: Centre Manager 

SALARY & BENEFITS:£26,822 - £30,153

WORKING HOURS: 37 hours per week 

THE COMPANY: ‘The Centre’ is a Big Lottery funded purpose-built building for the community of Brinsworth,Rotherham. It is community owned and managed by “Brinsworth Community Trust’ and
will act as a focal point for community activities. The Centre is anticipated to open in the
summer of 2018 to serve Brinsworth and district communities and, through local partnership
working, aims to deliver activities and services to meet community needs. The Parish
Council and Brinsworth Community Trust are seeking to appoint to the following roles.

THE ROLE: The Centre Manager will be given a high degree of autonomy, will be a self-motivated person and will carry out their role in line with the requirements of the Board of the Trust. The Centre Manager will be responsible for implementing new ideas to keep improving visitors’ experience and business performance throughout The Centre.

This is a really exciting opportunity for someone to come in to a brand new purpose built centre and make their mark. 

Key responsibilities of the Centre Manager 
Management of The Centre
Develop the business, maximise usage of the facilities available and identify new opportunities by means of effective marketing, networking and innovative solutions.
Management of staff and volunteers
Ensure that The Centre meets the required Outcomes set out by the Big Lottery and provide statistical evidence as and when required. 

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate for the Centre Manager role will be enthusiastic with a desire and commitment to helping members of the community get involved with The Centre. They will also need to be self-reliant, energetic, able to work on their own initiative and to prioritise activities.

The continued success of The Centre will depend heavily on the organisational skills of The Centre Manager and their ability to communicate effectively with all members of the community and work alongside colleagues, partners and Trustees.

You will need to have previous experience in a managerial position, preferably within community projects. You will also have a full knowledge of venue licensing requirements and demonstrate an understanding and experience of bar management. 

As part of the Parish Councils recruitment process, you will be required to complete a standard application form. 

Key experience essential for the role:
Previous managerial experience
Live within a commutable distance of Rotherham 
Experience of applying for grant funding
Successfully managed, developed and supported staff
Be fully conversant with Health & Safety and Food Hygiene legislations
Have a full knowledge of venue licensing requirements
