Job Description

Our wonderful hospice is looking for an experienced and strategic Director of Income Generation based in Chester to lead the fundraising team, including lottery and retail. This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented and proactive professional to make a significant impact in developing and delivering a robust, innovative fundraising strategy across the three key areas, to enable us to achieve our vision and goals.

As our Director of Income Generation, you will be responsible for…
• Leading and managing the team, including marketing, across all fundraising, retail and lottery areas, setting and managing KPIs accordingly through effective performance management.
• Developing and overseeing the implementation of robust marketing, campaigning, fundraising, lottery and retail strategies, alongside the development of the brand through brand management, PR and communications.
• Working with the Marketing Manager to develop an integrated digital marketing strategy to drive growth in online engagement via web and social media.
• Delivering organisational objectives through initiatives targeted at key internal and external audiences throughout the geographical area.
• Developing new operational areas and opportunities over and above the established portfolio.
• Ensuring all systems and processes within IG are robust and compliant with current regulation and legislation across Trading Standards, Code of Fundraising Practice, GDPR and gambling legislation.
• Acting as the key spokesperson for our organisation, raising the profile and awareness of the charity across the region and working to enhance / improve public understanding of our role and impact in the community.

To be our successful Director of Income Generation you will have the following skills and experience:
• A seasoned, senior fundraising professional with strong management skills able to provide strategic leadership, motivate staff through change, develop and inspire a cohesive team.
• A ‘hands-on’ manager who leads from the front on both individual initiatives and team goals.
• A proven track record of success in a similar role across all voluntary fundraising sources, with the ability to plan and implement the strategy as well as achieving significant growth in sustainable income.
• The capacity to turn strategy into deliverable income and working with colleagues across the charity and the national charity network in shaping fundraising proposals is essential as is significant previous experience in a similar role.
• Excellent and demonstrable communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders, both internally and externally, and including cultivating and managing donor relationships.
• Ideally, degree level qualified but must be able to demonstrate regular CPD during career.
