Job Description

A specialist SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) school are currently seeking an English Teacher to work with both their KS3 and KS4 classes.

The school is based within Enfield and supports students who are not currently attending their mainstream schools due to a wide range of reasons; trauma, depression, low self-esteem as well as other mental health issues. These students are in need of close support, either on a one-to-one basis or intervention groups.

Patience is key in order to develop and grow trusting relationships with the students, most of which have not previously had firm boundaries in place or positive role models. It is important to praise the positives rather than focus on the negatives. These students may have gone through other walks of life without positive reinforcement, therefore this can be a very powerful tool to help them strive socially as well as academically.

The school are seeking someone who is organised and can develop structured plans for the students. The end goal is to reintegrate children back in to mainstream schools with a prospect of college or Sixth form.
