Job DescriptionEnglish Teacher
I am working with a good school based in Richmond who are looking to take on an English teacher for a full time role. This is a maternity cover position for a strong English teacher. The role would initially involve working alongside the teacher who will be going on leave for a transitional hand over period. The teacher will likely go on maternity leave and leave the school sometime after the February half term.
The school has a well-established English department with 5 permanent members of staff and a head of department who has held the post for several years. Two of the department also teach Drama and there is a lot of interaction between the two subjects.
The department is very successful with 89% of students achieving A*-C grades at GCSE, 30% of them A*-A. This is a great opportunity to work in an active and fun department.
If you would like to be considered for this opportunity in education and training then please email an up to date copy of your CV as soon as possible.
This is a nice little school based in the leafy borough of Richmond. The during its last Ofsted inspection the school was judged to be "Good" in all aspects. The school records strong academic results and last year 66% of pupils achieved 5A*-C grades at GCSE (inc Maths & English), results which put them well above the national average and even the strong regional average. This is an oversubscribed, mixed school with a strong communal ethos, with origins dating back to 1658.
