Job Description

The Company and the Role:
This exciting new Insurance Advisor opportunity is based in Southampton with a Commercial Insurance Broker. You will be fully trained and coached to deal with warm insurance leads, fact finding and selling on features and benefits. This is a full time permanent position.
This role involves ZERO cold calling and is 100% warm insurance leads contacting you.
The Company is looking to bring in new unexperienced people who want to learn and develop an understanding in sales and insurance products.
If you are tired of working in retail sales and want to earn more, or you are in a boring office role and feel you could put your telephone skills to better use in the financial services sector. Then this is the opportunity for you.
There is no insurance experience required, just a professional and robust work attitude.

Key Features of the Role:
You will spend the first few months carrying out your full training on the data protection act, financial services regulations, and learning about a range of varied insurance policies.
You will have constant training and development on telephone call handling skills, learning how to fact find, investigate, how to use open and closed questioning skills, negotiation, and how to close a sale in a compliant, successful and professional way.
Once you are signed off as an Insurance Advisor you will handle warm insurance sales leads. These are people or businesses looking for insurance products such as Motor, Trades, Business or Property Insurance.
Warm leads will come in through telephone calls or from website enquiries or may have been referred to you from another insurance provider, or happy existing customer.
It will be up to you with your knowledge to find the best matching insurance product, based on features, benefits and cost and you will be expected to close the sale over the phone in a compliant and professional manner.

Knowledge and Skills:
Must be competent on Word, Microsoft Outlook programs.
Must be emotionally robust, can take direction, willing to learn and develop new skills.
Must be looking to get into a sales or insurance / financial services career.
Must have either an office based background, retail sales etc. Were you have dealt with people either over the phone or in some sort of sales capacity.
As an Insurance Advisor you are expected to act in a professional and compliant manner at all times. Using the correct and appropriate language.
You must be able to show a good career tenure or educational background. As the Company is willing to invest time and effort and they expect the same in return.

What’s on Offer?
The Insurance Advisor salary range (depending on experience) £15,000 - £18,000 basic.
Monthly bonus ranging from £300 - £500 per month.
Potential overtime if willing to work additional Saturdays or Bank Holidays.
Full time hours working Monday to Friday 9:00 – 17:00 with 1 hour for lunch. 1 day per week will be 10:00 – 18:30. With 1 Saturday out of 4 working 9:30 – 13:30.
20 days holiday + 8 public bank holidays, 1 additional holiday for each year completed.

There is no free parking, but there is a car park close to the office, or you can use regular public transport links from Southampton Central.
