The Company and the Role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a French National or Fluent French speaking sales professional to join this exciting and growing European independently owned manufacturer and distributor of artisan and fine foods selling to over 50 Countries.
They have a number of brands and an excellent reputation for quality and flexibility and making things happen. Financially strong, which has led to a recent acquisition in the UK, and further investment planned, this is an exciting time to join the business as a French speaking Key Account Executive to drive business growth in the UK retail multiples and Wholesaler sectors. The position is home based and permanent.
Reporting into the Head of Europe who is based in Paris, this is an ideal opportunity for a classically trained blue chip sales professional who is ready to make a move into a slightly smaller environment that is not constrained by process and bureaucracy.
Key Features of the Role:
Lead the development on UK multiples and major wholesalers
Deliver value and volume growth by building sales and marketing initiatives
Develop customer specific objectives which deliver the objectives agreed in the overall business strategy
Maximise account profitability through sales of the brands
Execute, monitor and evaluate the performance of the brands including NPD, sales activities and SKU changes
Maintain an accurate and rolling forecast in partnership with customers to meet and exceed agreed service levels
Prepare and deliver customer specific account business plans
Operate within agreed pricing and profit levels as laid out by the Head of Europe
Complete all relevant reporting procedures on time in full
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an accomplished French National or Fluent French speaking sales professional with experience of selling into the major multiples and / or major wholesalers.
You will have a thorough understanding of a P&L in order to deliver profitability, preferably with a top 10 multiple.
You will be entrepreneurial and ambitious and be focussed in order to develop new business.
You will thrive on working collaboratively with customers, and be adept at building successful relationships with commercial, technical and product development teams both in your customers and within the Company.
Your track record will speak for itself; you will be commercially astute, strong financially through accurate forecasting and P&L control, and be polished and articulate in style.
You must also relish ownership and accountability, be willing to proactively drive the business, and equally be able to find creative solutions and deal with ambiguity where process does not exist.
You will have strong negotiating ability with proven ability to influence.
Excellent communication skills in order to present the products and conduct relationships both in English and French.
Be numerate, have excellent presentation and communication skills, be able to communicate at all levels and be decisive, assertive and persuasive.
You will enjoy a high level of autonomy and therefore must be highly self-motivated to achieve agreed goals.
There will be frequent travel to France and occasional travel to Italy with this role to visit production sites and suppliers so candidates need to be prepared for this. When not travelling the candidate will be home based but will have access to the Company's two sales and distribution sites in London as additional resources e.g. meeting facilities etc.
A full driving licence is a prerequisite.
The position is home based but in reality with the Company's two sales and distribution sites located within the M25 and head offices of major retailers and wholesalers being in or around London, it is unlikely a candidate living North of Birmingham would be acceptable.
