Maintenance Manager – Automotive Tier 1 Manufacturer

A Maintenance Manager based within the West Midlands is needed for an international leader within automotive, independent aftermarket and industrial component manufacturing.

 Midlands Based Commutable from Wolverhampton, Cannock, Stafford, Telford, Tamworth, Walsall, West Bromwich, Burton on Trent

The Candidate

Reporting to the Plant Director, the Maintenance Manager will become responsible for implementing the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the implementation and coordination of the 5 pillars of TPM:  Corrective Maintenance; Planned Maintenance; Autonomous Maintenance; Maintenance Education and Training and Equipment and Process Development at MPUS.

You will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Other Technical area or Industrial Management
  • 10+ years hands on maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years in direct management and leadership of maintenance operations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to high speed manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and problem-solving aptitude and skills.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • SAP Key User for the Maintenance Module.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills of setting expectations, holding accountability and assessment of performance with appropriate recognition and correction.

The Role

  • Become the TPM methods expert Leading the TPM Core Team and coordinating the implementation of TPM.
  • Responsible for definition of Corrective and Autonomous Maintenance pillar of TPM and support Operations in implementation of these pillars.
  • Take responsibility for maintenance planning and scheduling resources
  • Create and implement an effective PM program.
  • Explore new trends in maintenance operations.
  • Manage maintenance budgets.
  • Become an active member of the Operations Management Team.
  • Manage the Maintenance Team in a manner that creates a high-performance work team within that group.
  • Establish and implement a maintenance department communications process.
  • Training and development of the maintenance technicians in your team.
  • Establish goals and key performance indicators.
