The Company and the Role:
Our client is an expanding privately owned cash and carry group. They are currently seeking an Operations Controller to oversee the introduction of a delivered foodservice operation from it cash and carry depots and to open up more cash and carry sites with a delivered service.
The position is based in Berkshire to the M4 corridor and the position is permanent.
Key Features of the Role:
Reporting into a Director, you will review existing processes and procedures currently used within the existing cash and carry operation alongside the establishing of new procedures for the introduction of a delivered foodservice from existing depots via a small fleet of “ Sprinter” vehicles.
Once the existing depots are successfully operating a delivered operation then it is the Company’s intention to establish a network of satellite cash and carry depots all providing a delivery operation.
The intention is that the Branch Store Managers will report into the job holder.
Knowledge and Skills:
To be considered for this outstanding opportunity, you will need to be an accomplished delivered foodservice operations professional ideally with experience of having made a major contribution to a new depot opening.
You may have been a Depot General Manager or Operations Manager or possibly a Logistics Project Manager. Anyone of these will be an ideal background or you may have a cash and carry background where you have held managerial positions in depots that had a delivered option available to customers.
You must be intimately familiar with all depot processes relating to warehouse, stock control, admin and transport. Particularly focus on stock and cash control.
First rate leadership and planning skills are essential, together with the ability to communicate objectives clearly..
You should be a focused individual, capable of thinking outside the box and have a passion for excellence and procedural compliance.
You should also be numerate, have excellent organisation skills and be used to working as part of management team intent upon building sales volume and providing a service second to none!
The ability to motivate, train and develop staff is of paramount importance.
Your motivational and coaching skills should already be proven in a previous role, whilst you also need to demonstrate the character and credibility to operate at the highest level.
What’s on Offer?
On offer to the successful candidate is an attractive basic salary of £65,000 – 75,000 depending upon experience. Possibly more for an outstanding candidate. In addition there will be a car allowance plus a bonus scheme.
