The Company is currently looking for dedicated and passionate Sommeliers to join their restaurant team, at one of the most exciting award-winning hotel and restaurant in the heart of Dorset. The position is permanent.
Key Features of the Sommeliers Role:
Ensuring all areas are properly stocked and set up ready for service
Ensuring an effective wine and beverage service in the restaurant at all times
Full knowledge of the wine list in order to assist guests with their choices, being able to make appropriate recommendations where necessary
Being aware of all bookings and any guest special requirements
Updates to the hotel wine selections and listings
Run any wine tasting sessions as required by the team
Resolving any quest queries relating to the wine and drink service
Ensuring the maintenance and cleanliness of all wine service equipment
Carry out any wine training as requested by Front of House Team Members
Stock and inventory control
Knowledge and Skills:
As one of the Sommeliers, you should have a passion for wines and spirits and have a friendly and warm persona.
The hotel is willing to employ someone who is ambitious and has minimal knowledge as a Sommelier.
They are willing to train and put you on Sommelier WSET courses if you are willing to work hard and progress within the group.
Previous experience as a Sommelier in a Fine Dining restaurant would be preferable but this hotel does not do wine snobbery or stuffiness!
Experienced Sommeliers should have completed a recognised study in wine and spirits and in turn the hotel will provide you with any other qualifications that might be required.
You will gain knowledge of the fantastic menus, learn how the restaurant is run and have amble opportunity to further develop your skills within this award-winning restaurant.
You will be fully knowledgeable of the menus, recipes and all beverage offerings
Experienced Sommeliers should have a good understanding of cost control and an understanding of wine GP%.
You should possess ambition to continually push yourself to move up to the next career level.
You will be a great team player with good organisational skills with the ability to thrive in a very busy hotel and restaurant, where the Company's reputation for serving good quality wines alongside consistently preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to the right quality, is second to none.
You should have a passion for wines having a desire to aim for high standards.

What's on Offer?
A basic salary of £18K - £25K per annum depending upon your knowledge and wine qualification set plus tronc worth around £2500 per annum. A live in option is available subject to a personal contribution towards the rent.
Working 5 days out of 7, lunch and dinner typically working [You must Apply on line] hours per week.
Holiday entitlement is 20 days plus all bank and public holidays, rising by 1 day each year for 5 years.
