Exciting and vibrant Full Time Sous Chef opportunity in a very busy modern restaurant and bar near to Southampton, with career development and progression and pay reviews. The position is permanent.
The menu at this waterside restaurant blends tropical and oriental dishes with great sea food, traditional favourites, pizza, pasta and a fabulous breakfast selection.

Key Features of the Role:
All of the restaurant's food will be prepared on site using the best ingredients, local where possible using carefully sourced suppliers, assisting the Head Chef and standing in when the Head Chef is out of the Kitchen.
The Sous Chef will use their passion for fresh food cooking and branded menu food preparation skills to produce good food, for a great guest experience.

You will need to be a great team player with good organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a very busy bar and restaurant. Where reputation for consistently preparing, cooking and presenting dishes of the right quality is second to none.
You will help supervise and manage 4 or 5 other Chefs in your Brigade, promote high standards and demonstrate good attention to detail, influencing effective kitchen controls to achieve good gross profit, efficient ordering and stock control as well as driving excellent standards of health and hygiene, where required.
Knowledge and Skills:
You should be an accomplished Second Chef or Sous Chef ideally with experience of working in a fresh food kitchen and branded restaurant, or at a similar level as a Senior CDP / Junior Sous Chef, and looking to move up to the next level.
Because of the location of the restaurant public transport links are limited and therefore you will need your own transport.
Your practical experience should ideally be supported by some form of catering qualification.
You should have a passion for producing the perfect dish every time.
Previous experience in a similar role requiring a broad food knowledge and precise attention to detail and a desire to aim for high standards is essential.
You should have worked in a busy kitchen and thrive under pressure, proven reliability, hardworking, trust worthy and passionate.
You must have experience and desire to work with fresh, quality food.
You will be an excellent team player and leader who can respectfully communicate to the team, and possess ambition to continually push the business forward.
You will have good knowledge of hygiene and health and safety.
You should possess a lot of stamina/energy to keep up to speed during occasional hectic spells of business.
What's on Offer?
Basic salary will be around £8.50 - £9 per hour.
Tips are paid on top of your basic salary, paid on a weekly basis.
Standard working week is normally 48 hours, 5 days on, 2 days off. Flexible shift patterns.
