Job Description


A great opportunity for a STRUCTURAL PROJECT ENGINEER to join my client, a large firm of consulting engineers in their EDINBURGH office.

You will need to have at least four years or more post graduate experience of design of various building types as they are working on offices, residential, hospitals, hotels, local authority buildings, industrial and more.

You will do analysis and design of building structures in structural steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry.

You will do analysis using 3D modelling software using Tekla Structural Designer / Robot

You will produce manual design calculations.

You will visit sites to inspect works and deal with site queries.

You will produce reports and do correspondence and you will manage small scale projects.


Our client is a successful firm of consulting engineers workng on civil, structural, geotechnical, transportation and highways projects.

They have a large number of offices.

They offer excellent ongoing training and CPD.


You will need to have a Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with four years or more structural design experience post graduation.

You will be almost chartered or already chartered as a Structural Engineer.

You will need to have worked on most construction and building types including timber, masonry, structural steel and concrete.

Good communication skills are essential to be able to deal with clients and the professional team. Also experience of liaising with the clients etc.

Salary is very negotiable according to your experience plus pension, life assurance and other benefits.
