Job Description


A great opportunity for a STRUCTURAL PROJECT ENGINEER to join my client, a large firm of consulting engineers in their CUMBRIA office.

You will do schematic and concept design and structural design calcaulations reporting to the Senior or Principal Engineer.

You will liaise with other members of the design team.

You will do structural designs using CSC Building Designer or RAM.

You will direct technicians to produce drawing information using AutoCAD and Revit.

You should be able to use AutoCAD.

You will visit sites and attend meetings.

You will prepare reports and correspondence.


Our client is a successful firm of consulting engineers workng on civil, structural, geotechnical, transportation and highways projects.

They have a large number of offices.

They offer excellent ongoing training and CPD.


You will need to have a Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with four years or more structural design experience post graduation.

You will be almost chartered or already chartered as a Structural Engineer e.g. working towards or already holding MIStructE, MICE, AMIStructE, AMICE or similar.

You will need to have worked on most construction and building types including timber, masonry, structural steel and concrete.

Good communication skills are essential to be able to deal with clients and the professional team. Also experience of liaising with the clients etc.

Salary is very negotiable according to your experience plus pension, life assurance, discretionary bonus and other benefits.
