Job Description

Due to expansion, a leading provider of web based applications is looking for a Trainee Software
Support Analyst / Programmer to join their existing team located in Shipston-on-Stour.

They are looking for a candidate with a passion for computer software, who wants to develop their
skills. Initially the role will be geared towards software support, with gradual exposure to SQL server
and .net programming.

You will enjoy full training plus regular performance related pay rises after a successful 3 months’
probation period, and the opportunity to progress within the company. You will receive many
benefits such as 22 days holiday, increasing to 25 days, plus statutory holidays. The company offer a

As a Trainee Support Analyst / Programmer you will be responsible for:

• Providing helpdesk 1st line support via telephone and remote access tools.
• Assisting with implementations, progressing into development related tasks such as bug
fixing and feature development.
Essential requirements, skills and experience:
• GCSE Maths Grade B (6) or higher.
• GCSE English Grade C (5) or higher.
• The ability to demonstrate independent learning and research skills.
• Basic IT literacy with a keen interest in the sector.
• Due to the rural location the applicant needs live within 40 minute commute to Shipston-on-
Stour. This makes Moreton-in-Marsh, Banbury, Leamington Spa, Warwick and Stratford
upon Avon, within a reasonable commutable distance.

Preferred skills and experience:

• Degree, ’A’ level or Higher Education, in an IT related subject.
• Knowledge of Web Technologies.
• Exposure to software Development tools.
Desirable skills and experience:
• Knowledge of .net
• Knowledge of SQL

They have a relaxed office environment and 8.30am – 5pm working hours.

In return, the Helpdesk Support Analyst will receive a salary of £17,000 - £22,000 per annum
dependent on experience.
