Warehouse Operations Manager

An exciting position has arisen for an Operations Manager to join the aftermarket  division of a branded global manufacturer and supplier of automotive components. We are seeking an experienced leader of warehouse distribution operations to manage all warehouse functions, continually developing systems and processes to enable improved efficiency and cost reductions.

West Yorkshire Based -  Commutable from Leeds, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Halifax, Barnsley, Rochdale, Keighley, Burnley, Harrogate, Dewsbury,

£55-60k Basic + Bonus (up to 10%) + Healthcare + Pension

The Role

Reporting to the European Director of Distribution Operations and working closely with the Regional Director UK, the Distribution Centre Operations Manager will lead a successful, highly motivated team of 4.

  • Managemotivate and develop the Warehouse Operations team, maximising output alongside Warehouse Supervisors.
  • Ensure adequate planning of resource to meet customer demand through regular communication with other departments.
  • Maintain necessary statistical information.
  • Provide guidance in the training of personnel.
  • Continually assess processes, equipment and systems and recommend functional changes, always with productivity and cost efficiencies in mind.
  • Prepare budgets  and management reports as required.
  • Attend and contribute to management meetings.
  • Manage the performance of the department against agreed targets and budgets.
  • Review the warehouse planning model on a daily basis and keep the management team informed of any changes or issues.
  • Ensure the Quality Department effectively deal with customer complaints, supplier faults and defect prevention.

The Candidate

  • Previous Warehouse / Distribution Centre Operations Management skills are a must.
  • Team management experience and skills are essential.
  • Experience of working within a ISO9001 and ISO14001 environment are required. NEBOSH experience is highly desirable.
  • You will be motivatedresults driven and focussed with ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills are a must for this role with ability to liaise with and support Directors in the UK and Europe.
  • Strong IT skills - in particular Microsoft Excel and Word  and knowledge of SAP.
  • Confident communicator - able to build strong working relationships and influence at all levels
  • Desirable characteristics include dependable, approachable, flexible and a stickler for details.
